Balance Counseling LLC
Melanie Fortin, MEd, MA, LMFTA

I provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in English and in French. I see clients via telehealth and in person in Connecticut. I specialize in grief/bereavement, but I can help with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions.

I am a mother of two adult children and one school-aged child. I am married and I have been with my husband for thirty years.

My unique upbringing and life experiences have shaped my cultural identity and given me a unique perspective on life, which is reflected in my work with my clients.

In addition to my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I have a master's degree in Education, and a bachelor's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

I am a member of the AAMFT (American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy), a member of CTAMFT (Connecticut Association for Marriage and Family Therapy), and I have attended multiple grief trainings in recent years.

When I am not seeing clients, I enjoy taking walks with my dogs, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
